Conversation on Legacy

PETER J. SERRANO: "Can I leave a legacy of love and compassion for my children, your children, the world?"

MINISTA SAYS: A legacy according to the dictionary is a gift of property, esp. personal property, as money, by will.  Also a legacy can be anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor.

To answer your question Peter, according to the the dictionary definition as long as OWN (personalize your way of being) your love and compassion and then HAND IT DOWN (people are able to duplicate your way of being) to your predecessors, a legacy of love and compassion CAN be given.

It is my strong belief your legacy gets to be a tangible way of expressing your being that may be an example for other to follow in the future.  Being love and compassion means that everything that you do in your life will be love and compassion.  Your life's walk will be the example.  It is in the teaching of others to also BE love and compassion that you will be living a legacy.  I am not attached to the way in which those lessons are translated from one to another and it is because of the evidence of your acts being repeated or inspiring the acts of others that you KNOW that you are what you say you are.

In response to this dialogue, my good friend, China Brooks posed a wonderful question and here is my answer:

CHINA BROOKS: How do you exist in 150 years? As a culture, a conversation, etc...?

MINISTA SAYS: YES China... I love this question. My vision is that in 150 years, I still exist as a culture (a way of life characterized by language, music, and art). Interesting enough one of my (many) visions is that I would be the beginning of a "new civilization" (or un-civilization) of people. A community of givers that know no race, religion, sexual orientation, or social status. A free expression people where the essence of them is respect, peace, and unity. The evidence of my legacy will be in the habits these people display, inspired by the way I live my life today.

Not only will I be the subject of conversation, the evidence of my legacy (which is an extension of the legacy of my grandmothers/fathers because I am already apart of an existing legacy) will be the homage that the youth of the future pay to the presence that I am today and everyday until my death.

IT is so great that the future is already reverencing my life congruent to me living my life now. I feel that it is my legacy that creates me, not me creating a legacy. I am living the story of my futures past, now. I am the dream of how things used to be and the character amongst many others that stood for a different possibility. Somewhere in the far future, a group of highly evolved individuals are praising me (and you) for my efforts toward change; happy about the life they are able to live because I SAID SO.

Thanks again for the questions. These have supported me in realigning my intention and listening to my future for direction and my past for inspiration.

Martin Luther King Jr. left a legacy without the tangible evidence in his lifetime.. He had intangible evidence of the Most High God's POWER through Faith(abstract)... "walk by faith, not by sight"..the legacy is not about "you" at all...
